Winter Solstice and this blessed unrest

in Huacaria, in the sacred land of Peru. In the spirit of sacred flow:

“We love you water. We thank you water.”

Happy Winter Solstice! There is so much to be grateful for…the stillness, the shedding, the awakening, the flow. Gracias Madre. This has been a year of profound teachings and I am savoring each one weaving its way through the landscape of my heart and out again.

Sacred Flow is three years old but today is Winter Solstice and it marks the one year anniversary of this digital sanctuary. Feeling immensely blessed to be able to share some of the explorations I find most inspiring, illuminating, and transformative.

In this time of great birthing, may you feel that:

“There is a force in the universe, which, if we permit it, will flow through us and produce miraculous results” ~ Gandhi

There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time. This expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium; and be lost. The world will not have it.

It is not your business to determine how good it is, not how it compares with other expression. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open…No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others. ~ Martha Graham

Go on exploring dear wanderers and keep the channels open. Life is a a moveable feast. In celebration of this precious life offering itself to us, may we offer the spirit of our meditation, prayer, art, dance, breath and love. May we align our hearts with the heart of nature.

I wonder, what will we sense, release, and create together, for the realization of our true nature, for the benefit of all beings, for all of life? World, may we open our hearts to your ever flowing beauty.

With love and gratitude,

Ten ideas to create a space your [inner] child loves

Children living on the clouds by yoko furusho

Helping your child create a space they love can be a road to self discovery, a way of finding out what is that makes your child tick in relationship to all of life. From children’s rooms to children’s schools, to children’s playgrounds; rather than creating spaces that are stifling, rigid, boring or diminishing, let’s create spaces that are imaginative, engaging, warm, soothing, vital and evocative.

Play, imagination, and reverie

Space can feed your child’s imagination, intuition, deep inquiry and caring for all life. Space has the uncanny ability to inhibit or call forth, evoke, bring these gifts of the spirit into the light. The design of a child’s space should not only be aesthetically pleasing but also inspire, encourage and nurture the development of the child’s potential on a physical, emotional, creative, intellectual and spiritual level. After all, we are multifaceted beings.
